Ask not what your country can… WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA?!

On January 20th, 1961, John F. Kennedy addressed the country and the world as the newly-minted President of the United States of America.  He famously charged us to “ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”  Soaring rhetoric and a call to action for a nation.  Few would dare slander this as political hype designed to indoctrinate our youth into the Democratic Party.

However, when Barack Obama told some school students around the country yesterday that “[w]e need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you can help solve our most difficult problems. If you don’t do that – if you quit on school – you’re not just quitting on yourself, you’re quitting on your country,“ he was obviously shilling for the Dems.  In fact, the entirety of his speech – which included admonitions against talking back to teachers, cutting classes and dropping out of school, charges to write one’s own destiny, and learning to be better prepared to handle the challenges of the future – was nothing short of a campaign speech to secure his own re-election in four years when a number of those students would be eligible to vote… or, at least, that’s what it was if you’re suckling at the leathery teat of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity.

First off, to think that a sitting U.S. President would be so crass as to deliver a political speech to a nationwide audience of school children during school hours is patently ridiculous.  Do you think that, if this were even going to have a hint of acceptability, that George W. Bush wouldn’t have been on every TV screen in America stumping for whatever struck his fancy?  So, to point to Obama giving kids a “stay in school” pep talk and label it political is to basically say that George W. Bush obviously missed an important outlet for advancing his legislative agenda and probably keeping the Democrats from sweeping Congress in 2006.  Tsk tsk.

Second, this shows some true colors from the right.  “Stay in school,” “respect your teachers,” “don’t quit on your country…”  These have now all been labeled as Democratic values that are anathema to the right. That’s correct, folks:  Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck would like you to drop out, flip off a teacher and give a big old “fuck you” to America.  To do otherwise would be propping up the Communist agenda of Obama, Pelosi and Reid, and we can’t have that, now can we?

Hannity, Beck and Rush have been preaching about the fucking of America for some time now. Let the rich stay rich and the poor die in darkness, and when the garbage stays on curbs, the sewers back up and the power lines drop from nobody maintaining them, the country will collapse with these fat douchebags wondering why the Democrats let it happen.
